It certainly hasn’t been the sunniest start to summer here in Victoria, but the weather gods made sure to turn the heat UP for Challenge’s annual Surf Camp gifting us glorious sunshine and blue skies all weekend!
20 Challenge surfers made their way to the heart of the Great Ocean Road region where they enjoyed the turquoise waters of Lorne’s Main Beach. With its flat beach and gentle waters, there is no better spot for both the novice and experienced surfer to put their best foot forward to catch a wave or two! It also certainly helped that we had the expertise of the team from Go Ride A Wave leading the way.
And our water pursuits didn’t stop at surfing as we also put our skiing skills to the test! Thanks to the incredible hospitality and guidance of the Melton Ski Club, we enjoyed a lovely day out on the boat, trying out all sorts of water skills!
A big thank you as well to everyone else who made this weekend possible and so much fun. Grandma Shield’s Bakery kept our stomachs nice and full all weekend; LiveWire Park kept the adrenaline pumping with their super-charged treetop adventures; and Rip Curl made sure we were stacked with plenty of cool merchandise. To our volunteers, your care and passion for the kids is second-to-none, and we are so grateful for your time.
