This weekend marks the Essendon Football Club’s ‘Tackling Childhood Cancer’ match. As part of a long-standing partnership, the Essendon Football Club commits one game each year – known as the ‘Tackling Childhood Cancer’ match – in support of Challenge. This year’s Tackling Childhood Cancer match will see the Bombers take on the Dees this Saturday 19 September at Metricon Stadium.
In a non-COVID world, the game would normally see 22 Challenge kids running out onto the ground, hand-in-hand with their AFL superheroes. Given current circumstances, this year will be slightly different with 22 kids being Zoomed into the Bombers’ rooms before the game to cheer them on.
We are incredibly proud of our partnership with the Essendon FC. It is especially fitting that this year’s game falls in the month of September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
The more awareness we raise, the better we can ‘Tackle Childhood Cancer’. #TacklingChildhoodCancer
