A Night to Remember at the Pullman East Melbourne

10 July 2026

The Pullman East Melbourne was transformed into the ultimate sleepover as children came together for a night filled with fun, friendship and very little sleep.

Across the hotel’s second floor, there was something happening around every corner. Kids battled it out on the arcade games, settled in for movies, decorated cupcakes and created their own furry friends at the Build-A-Bear workshop. There were nail and face painting stations, plenty of poses in the photobooth and an endless supply of food and treats to keep everyone going well into the night.

Some very special visitors also stopped by to join the fun. Favourite heroes and princesses made their way through the party, from Gotham’s Batman to Belle from Beauty and the Beast. A few Essendon superstars even arrived straight from their game at Marvel Stadium to take photos, meet the kids and shoot a few hoops. Of course, Andy Lee also made an appearance and did what he does best, filling the room with laughter and making the night even more memorable.

An enormous thank you must go to the team at Pullman East Melbourne, who generously give us the entire second floor of the hotel to host this special event year after year. From preparing delicious meals and treats to helping transform the space into a place where hundreds of children can relax, play and feel completely at home, their staff put an incredible amount of time, care and energy into making the Slumber Party possible. Their generosity in sharing such a significant part of the hotel with Challenge means more than we can say.

Most importantly, the Slumber Party gave children the chance to forget about hospitals and treatment for a little while and simply enjoy being kids. New friendships were made, countless memories were created and, somewhere between the movies, games and midnight snacks, a little sleep may have even happened.
