Escaping the hustle and bustle of life in Melbourne, our Challenge campers embraced a rural getaway during a memorable weekend in the quaint town of Cohuna, nestled along the captivating banks of Gunbower Creek. With our campsite established, the town’s charms awaited our exploration…
Beside the meandering creek, we cast our lines into the water, seeking the thrill of fishing. Our adventurous spirits led us to navigate the town’s rugged terrain on four-wheel drives while the golf enthusiasts among us honed their skills on the picturesque greens. Amidst the laughter and camaraderie, we shared cooking adventures and indulged ourselves in the silly delights of impromptu games that left us grinning from ear to ear. And who could forget the unforgettable moment when one of our long-term volunteers, Micka, in his valiant attempt, found himself dismounted from a cow, much to the amusement of all!
Cohuna Camp holds a special place in our hearts. It feels like just yesterday when Brooke – a cherished Challenge friend and member – first unveiled her vision of hosting a camp in her beloved hometown. As each year passes, the memories created continue to live vividly, with undoubtedly many more to come.
Our heartfelt gratitude extends to Brooke, her dedicated team, and the Cohuna community for embracing us with open arms and genuine warmth. Their hospitality was pivotal in crafting a camp that will forever hold a cherished spot in our lives.
A resounding applause goes out to our exceptional volunteers whose boundless kindness and unwavering passion created an unforgettable weekend.
As we bid adieu to Cohuna for now, our hearts remain full of gratitude and eager anticipation for what will come in 2024!
