Cops, Kids, and a Lot of Fun

11 December 2025

Cops N Kids Camp always begins the same way: with a kind of electric anticipation that spreads through a bus full of kids who know, somehow, that the weekend ahead will feel bigger than the sum of its activities. And it did. Helicopter rides that made the world look small and possible, police cars and motorbikes, plus a whirl of trampolines, fire stations, magic shows, and face paint – all stitched together a few days that seemed to brim with their own kind of joy.

The weekend rolled from bounce floors to cinema seats to the old-time charm of Sovereign Hill, where gold pours and candle making somehow sat perfectly alongside hot chips and very serious debates about who jumped highest at Extreme Bounce. Even the quieter moments had their own sparkle.
By the time we reached the wildlife park and bowling alley on the final day the whole group felt like its own little community. Kids were more confident. Carers were more relaxed. The kind of ease that only appears when people have spent a few days laughing and moving and being looked after without needing to ask.

A huge thank you to the Ballarat community, our partners, and the incredible volunteers who brought this camp to life. Their generosity, energy, and spirit sit behind every moment of joy. Cops N Kids Camp may be built on big activities but its real magic comes from people who choose to show up and make the world feel a little lighter for these families.
