A Day in May

Your school can help make a difference to the lives of children and families living with cancer by holding ‘A Day in May’.

The ‘A Day in May’ campaign raises funds annually for Challenge’s Musical Moments Trust – a scholarship which funds positive musical experiences for young children diagnosed with cancer. It costs $500 to provide one Musical Moments Scholarship.

Challenge invites schools to participate by nominating one day within the month of May where students can come to school dressed with a splash of YELLOW in return for a donation of their choice – no matter how small or large, every cent will help us make a difference.

Why yellow? It all circles back to a special young boy who, despite the many hardships he was dealt, always embraced life with such a cheery positivity and warmth. He could light up any room and it is no surprise his favourite colour was yellow, which symbolises all his very best qualities. Throughout his treatment journey, this young boy found great comfort and support in the power of music. Whether he was singing or dancing, music always brought a smile to his face. In his memory and through the initiative of his family, the Musical Moments Trust was established.

So, please join us and go YELLOW this May to support a worthy cause and continue a special legacy.

By hosting A Day in May, not only will you be helping to support children and families living with cancer, but you will also enter the draw to win $1,000 worth of musical instruments for your school.
