You would think Challenge was a motorcycle club given how motorbike-oriented our last few weeks have been… and to be honest, we aren’t far off it!
Following the KTM Ride4Kids event, we held our 2018 Motorbike Camp at the Goulburn Valley Junior Motorcycle Club and we could not have been more welcomed. Learning all the ins and outs of motorbike and motocross riding, Challenge kids aged between 8 and 16 years enjoyed an action-packed weekend revving their engines!
Understandably, a lot of the first-time riders were a little nervous to begin with, but once they started to find their groove and accelerate their wheels, they were professionals in no time … sort of.
Our hats really go off to these guys as riding a motorbike is certainly no easy task and can indeed be quite daunting; however, every camper gave it a go and kept giving it a go. We love to feel secure and safe, but growth requires discomfort and as we grow, the uncomfortable starts to feel comfortable and there is no feeling more satisfying than that.
A big thank you to everyone involved in this camp – Maca Coaching, Craig Gathercole and all his friends for working long hours on ensuring the bikes were up to scratch, Paul and the team at Goulburn Valley Junior Motorcycle Club, all our amazing volunteers, and finally Sarah our superstar Camps Coordinator. We are so grateful for all your hard work and support, ensuring the weekend was a success.
We would like also to like to send one BIG thanks to all the mums and dads that allowed Challenge to take their precious children away on a weekend of exhilaration. Motorbike camp has always been the adventure of a lifetime for our kids, but we know it can be difficult for our parents to relax as this is a camp that is just as much testing for the parents as it is for the children. However, rest assured, all went according to plan and we may have some of Australia’s next up-and-coming riders on our hands!
We hope everyone had an amazing camp and we look forward to revving it up again next year!
