The Ambrus family were first introduced to Challenge in 2005 when Anna’s son, Jaiden, was diagnosed with a sarcoma. Throughout Jaiden’s cancer journey, the Ambrus family became very involved with Challenge and wanted to show their gratitude by somehow returning the favour.

Anna and her family have recognised Christmas as a time to ‘give back’ and for the past two years, they have chosen to support Challenge.

At Christmas, the Ambrus family home is transformed into a Christmas Wonderland to raise funds for Challenge. With over 30,000 lights, a huge snow globe, bubble machines and laser lights, the “light up” began on 1st December, running every night until Christmas Eve! Thousands of people from Geelong and surrounding communities visited this spectacular interactive light show to meet their favourite characters (Princesses Anna & Elsa, Dora and Rudolph just to name a few!), have their photos taken with Santa and Mrs Clause and sit in the giant Santa Sleigh, fully immersing themselves in the Christmas spirit!

This was an incredible team effort by the Ambrus family and their friends who dressed up each night from 6pm – 12am to bring joy to other people.

Christmas is about giving and throughout the 24 days leading up to Christmas, visitors to 82 Townsend Rd made small donations, which resulted in a grand total of $3,745.95 for Challenge. What an incredible gift!

Challenge would like to thank the Ambrus family and their band of mascots for their hard work and enthusiasm and to the visitors for their generous donations!
