Farewell to our friend, Shane Warne

It was utterly devastating for Challenge to hear the news of Shane Warne’s passing.

Shane was a once-in-a-generation talent – the King of Spin, who shaped modern cricket as we know it today. But not only was he a legend on cricket grounds around the world, he was a legend in the community.

Challenge and Shane have shared a relationship which spanned over two decades. Whether it was meet-and-greets or fundraising for Challenge, he was always only ever a phone call away and nothing was too big of an ask.

He touched our community in immeasurable ways and never sought any fanfare or recognition for it. His desire to make a difference came from the goodness of his heart, which was larger than life itself. He was dearly loved by all.

Vale, Shane. You will be missed.
