Scotty Wins Silver, But Is Gold to Challenge!

02 February 2021

Challenge has received international attention in recent times thanks to world-champion snowboarder and outright legend, Scotty James.

Scotty was looking for a new helmet and wanted to give it a special touch, which would outshine all the other snowboarders competing in the X Games Aspen 2021. He reached out to Challenge and asked a small, but lucky group of kids if they wanted to be involved in the design of his new helmet. Scotty didn’t have any specific preferences when it came to the design; all he asked was that they “draw something that makes them happy”. Of course, the kids all agreed without hesitation.

Scotty recently revealed the final product and what a helmet it is! Adorned with pictures drawn by Challenge’s very own budding artists, the drawings ranged from a boy on a slide to a unicorn with the word brave. Every piece of art was unique and told its own story for each child.

Scotty wore the helmet when he competed in the Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe competition at the X Games. Unfortunately, Scotty just fell short of a three-peat – having won gold in both 2019 and 2020 – but still came home with silver, which is a phenomenal result.

We couldn’t be any more proud of Scotty – not only for his achievements on the slopes, but off them too.
