Challenge provides fun experiences and continued support through our programs and services for approximately 150 - 200 members each week.
These services provide our members with the opportunity to get together and enjoy some relief from the pressures of treatment.
Our support aims to make hospital stays a little brighter by providing activities and services that help to relieve the boredom often felt during stays on the ward.
Hospital activities include cooking, arts and crafts, celebrity visits, bedside games, laptop computers with wireless internet connection, DVDs, portable DVD players, PlayStation consoles and games and FOXTEL, all of which act as a positive distraction from hospital treatments.
Challenge is fortunate to have an extensive network of celebrities and sporting personalities who often visit our members in hospital. Often these visits are great surprises and provide a memorable moment for the entire family.
Challenge funds hospital support programs in the Children’s Cancer Centre at the Royal Children’s Hospital and Monash Medical Centre, which aim to make hospital stays a little brighter. We do this by providing activities and services that help to relieve the boredom which is often felt during stays on the ward.
Once a month, Challenge transforms the Playroom at the RCH into an area where parents can enjoy a delicious three course meal and engage in conversations with other parents.
