How often must I volunteer my time?
You can volunteer at the times that best suit you. There is no requirement on how many Challenge camps, events or activities you participate in throughout the year. Any time you are able to offer is greatly appreciated.
Do I need to be trained to be a volunteer?
Yes. All volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Training session before volunteering at Challenge
Can I nominate myself to volunteer at specific events?
Yes. Throughout the year volunteers are mailed a list of upcoming camps and events on an Expression of Interest form, where you can select the events which best suit you.
What should I expect from volunteering at Challenge?
As a Challenge volunteer you can expect to have fun and gain a true sense of reward for making a real difference to the lives of children living with cancer and their families.
How are Challenge volunteers selected?
Anybody wishing to become a Challenge volunteer simply needs to be aged over 18 years, complete a current Police and Working with Children Check and attend a New Volunteer Training session. Every individual brings unique qualities into the program.
Does all volunteer work involve working with children?
No. Although most of our work at camps and activity days involves children, we have many other events that children do not attend, but that still require volunteers. Challenge hosts many fundraising events and activities throughout the year that rely on volunteer support to be successful.
Do I have to be a certain age to volunteer?
At Challenge anyone from the age of 18 is welcome to volunteer.
